Ray Quinn is a multi talented singer, dancer and actor who first came to our attention in 2000 playing Anthony Murray on Channel 4’s Brookside before going on to play roles in other many TV shows. He finally turned his attention to his true passion and entered The X factor, appearing in the 2006 series which peaked at 12.6 million viewers.
Ray, who is now 29, originates from Liverpool stole the nations hearts during an X Factor battle with Leona Lewis. Week after week he impressed with renditions of classics such as You’ll Never Walk Alone and My Way, eventually coming second only to Leona. Ray’s debut album ‘Doing It My Way’ entered the UK album charts at Number 1, selling over 300,000 copies without even releasing a single – showing the huge affect the show had on his career.
Following the success of X factor & ‘Doing It My Way’, he chose to combine all of his talents and take to the West End stage. Starring in some of the biggest hit shows such as Grease, Dirty Dancing & Legally Blonde only highlighted just how versatile a performer he was.
The next stage of Rays career would be his truly exceptional appearances on the Huge ITV1 show ‘Dancing On Ice’. A show people dream of winning once, Ray managed to do it twice. having never danced on ice before he proved to be a natural. Confirming his status as ‘the best non professional skater they’ve ever had’ Ray won the Champions of Champions series in 2014.
Ray has spent much time over the past 18 months in the studio working on a new commercial sound that would return him to his music. A collection of original songs for his eagerly awaited second album. Touring to sell out theatres throughout the spring and summer of 2016 Ray witnessed firsthand just how well his huge fan base are embracing this new sound.
Ray said ‘I’ve loved touring, theatre and the big TV shows but i’m finding it fantastic being back in the studio working on music again. Having a real input creatively, now I’m a bit older has been so rewarding’
Breaking from the recording studio Ray is currently on an extensive tour of the UK as Glen in the hit musical The Wedding Singer until October 2017. Based upon the Adam Sandler Movie the Musical is getting great reviews with critical acclaim from the Press, Ray is lighting up the stage..
